Nyankrom, Shama Traditional Council in the Republic of Ghana and the Sovereign State of SHRIKAILASA, the Ancient Enlightened Hindu Civilizational Nation, and the First Nation of Hindus entered into bilateral relations – Emphasizing their similar values on cultural understanding, religious freedom and other rights, eradication of hunger, youth leadership, holistic health and education initiatives, exchanges to educate citizens, environmental stewardship and sustainable living.
Nyankrom is one of the traditional communities within the Shama District, the first district from the east of the Western Region of Ghana. It is a coastal community and one of the fourteen (14) administrative Districts in the Western Region. It is located 15km East of Sekondi (Western Regional Capital) and 265km west of the national capital, Accra. Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II is the paramount Queen-mother for the Shama traditional area. A role she is performing creditably. She is a Christian and believes that without God one is worthless. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but faith and submission to God is her watchword and with that she fights and wins her battles.
The total land area of the district is 193.7 km2 representing about 1% of the entire Western Region. The population is 117,224 in 2021, representing 5.7% of the regional population of 2,060,585. Almost 45% of the population are young people making the population very vibrant. The main determinants of the economy are agriculture, forestry and fisheries but the majority is into crop farming. Nyankrom cultivates large amounts of acacia for coal production.
