The United Ancient Indigenous Enlightened Sanatana Hindu Civilisational Nations (UAN) and the Karamoja Women’s Cultural Group formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for mutual cooperation, inter-Indigenous solidarity, and institutional collaboration.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing Indigenous rights, protecting ancestral land, empowering women and youth, strengthening Indigenous leadership, and supporting the cultural preservation of the Karimojong people. Through this cooperation, UAN and the Karamoja Women’s Cultural Group aim to contribute to intercultural dialogue, the transmission of ancestral knowledge, and greater Indigenous participation and representation.
The Karamoja Women’s Cultural Group is a grassroots-led organization operating in the Karamoja Sub-Region of Uganda, dedicated to empowering women, protecting Indigenous land rights, and strengthening community leadership — guided by the conviction that land is life and that communities must hold the power to protect it.
This Memorandum of Understanding represents a shared commitment to preserving Indigenous heritage, promoting ancestral wisdom, strengthening cooperation among Indigenous communities, and developing future collaboration in cultural, educational, sustainable development, capacity-building, and humanitarian initiatives.
